The start of a new is perfect for setting goals to accomplish during the year. Montessori preschool children may not have the same kind of resolutions as grownups, but you can communicate with them about their personal objectives and help them develop the practical life skills that come from nurturing personal responsibility. You are the Role ModelParents are the most influential people in the life of a Montessori preschool student. When your children see you setting goals and then following through with them, they learn to do the same. Additionally, learning to complete goals teaches children to be more responsible in all aspects of their lives.
Academic Goals The New Year is a popular time for setting personal goals. For young kids, you can talk about things that interest them and they would like to learn more about. Not only will setting goals like learning to do addition benefit your child in the future, but it will also give you some insight into the things your child is more likely to take an interest in if given the opportunity. Gratitude Scavenger Hunt Try talking with your children about creating a gratitude scavenger hunt. But instead of making this a one-time activity at the start of the year, consider this as a weekly or monthly goal objective and keep a calendar of what your does for each item and talk about how doing it makes them feel. Random Acts of Kindness We all know that being kind to others makes us feel good, and that is something your child can benefit from at an early age. Talk with your Montessori preschool daughter about things she likes to do for others and help her set up some goals for doing those things over the course of the following days or weeks. Remember, though, that forcing your child to do nice things is counter-productive, and provide her with encouragement rather than instruction. Academics are not the goals for kids to set. Other goals that can work towards include things like learning to rollerskate or ride a bike, making new friends, or whatever she finds the most interesting and exciting. The important objective for setting goals is to learn responsibility and develop the ability to complete tasks once they are begun. Comments are closed.
